You can bet on every match here at Stake Sportsbook, and find our expert predictions for how the season will go below.

2025/26 Premier League Tournament Overview

Every season, the twenty best sides in English soccer compete in the EPL. Each team plays 38 games in total, one home and one away, against every other club in the league. Teams earn three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. Points are tallied up and used to determine Premier League table position, with the top side crowned champions of English soccer at the end of the season.

2025/26 Premier League Schedule

Here are the key dates for the 2025/26 EPL season:

  • Opening fixture: Friday, August 15, 2025

  • Final day of the season: Sunday, May 24, 2026

When & Where are Premier League Matches Played?

Premier League matches are played on grounds around the country. England is home to some of the most famous and historic football grounds in the world, including Old Trafford, Anfield, Selhurst Park, Craven Cottage, St James’ Park and Villa Park.

Premier League History & Winning Teams

The Premier League was founded in 1992 after the top clubs broke away from the English Football League. Since then, it has gone on to become one of the world’s most-watched sports competitions, broadcast to a potential TV audience of more than 4 billion people. This success has seen the EPL become the richest soccer league in the world, helping it attract some of the biggest stars in world soccer.

The competition runs alongside the English FA Cup and EFL Cup, while teams in lower leagues such as the Championship, League One and League Two fight to gain promotion to the Premier League. Teams that finish in the top 4 places of the Premier League qualify for next season’s Champions League, while the 5th and 6th places can reach the Europa League and Conference League.

Premier League Picks & Predictions for 2025/26 Season

This Premier League season is shaping up to be another thrilling contest between some of the best clubs in the world. The odds are currently predicting a three-horse race between Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City, but teams like Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur could all influence the title race.

Meanwhile, the battle for the European qualification spots could also go down to the wire as it did last season. Will the traditional big 6 secure their spots in the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, or will we see a challenge from teams like Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, West Ham United, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth?

This season, the newly promoted sides are Leeds United, Burnley, and Sunderland, whose fans will be hoping they can do better than the previous sides that came up from the Championship. It’s now been 2 seasons in a row that all 3 promoted sides went straight back down.

Who Will Win the EPL? Picks to Win

  1. Liverpool - Liverpool lifted their 2nd ever Premier League title last season and are the current favorites to retain their crown. If Salah can continue his electric form and new signings Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Hugo Ekitike hit the ground running, they’ll be very difficult to stop. Arne Slot has looked like an excellent manager, and the Liverpool backroom staff are highly organised.

  2. Arsenal - Arsenal once more came up short last season, making it 3 seasons in a row as runners-up. They’ve made some key signings this summer, bringing in highly rated striker Viktor Gyokeres as well as midfielder Martin Zubimendi and winger Noni Madueke, among others, to bolster their squad and push for their first EPL title since 2003/04. They’re currently second-favorites, and they certainly look stronger than last season.

  3. Manchester City - Manchester City had a poor season by their standards, ending a run of 4 Premier League titles in a row as they finished 3rd. Their season was hampered by the loss of Rodri to injury, but he’s now returned, and they’ve made several key signings in attack and defense to support their existing talent. Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush will be their key threats, but rival fans will be hoping they fail to reach their best.

  4. Chelsea - Last season, Chelsea looked like a whole new team, finishing 4th in the league and adding multiple new signings. This summer, they lifted the FIFA Club World Cup, beating the strongest PSG side we’ve seen. They could mount a serious title challenge, especially with the addition of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens in attack. They’re currently outsiders, ranked 4th according to the latest odds.

Premier League Betting Tips, Odds & Previews

Here are a few of our top tips to help you place successful bets this season:

  1. Make the most of our guides - Before betting on the Premier League, it’s important to understand how to read odds so you can find the best value. You can also read our other betting guides, as well as our picks and predictions blogs. We’ve got predictions of major tournaments such as the Champions League and the 2026 World Cup as well as exclusive interviews with football legend Sergio Agüero!

  2. Research each bet - There’s so much data and information on the Premier League these days, including detailed stats at Stake. You can learn a lot from this, including the head-to-head record, current form, and win probability. Use this data carefully to inform your betting decisions. Last season, an average of 2.93 goals were scored per game, while home teams won 41% of the time.

  3. Bet against the popular teams - Some teams have big fan bases but are currently going through difficult times. A good example is Manchester United. The odds often still favor them in a lot of games simply because they have a strong history in the competition. However, their poor form means there’s value in betting against them. You can also keep an eye on team news in case key players are out injured.
